ETA is organising its 2026 Sustainable Conference in Lisbon, in the morning of the 24th of November. This year´s event will have as theme Building and Operating the Tug of the Future: Managing Risk from Design to Deployment, and will address the rapidly changing threat landscape. From attacks in the Black Sea, Red Sea and Persian Gulf to cyberattacks, geopolitical instability and rising insurance risks, tomorrow’s tug must be designed for resilience as well as performance.
P&I clubs and insurers will examine the changing underwriting environment, emerging exposures and lessons learned from claims, while maritime lawyers will address contracts, liability, responsibilities and the legal implications of operating in higher-risk waters. Pilots will bring a practical perspective, exploring how security threats, new technologies and vessel design translate into real-world operational and safety implications. Shipbuilders and technology providers will focus on design choices, cybersecurity, automation, equipment reliability and increasingly vulnerable global supply chains.
The Conference will take place at 11:30 a.m. (GMT) at the charming and historic Olissippo Lapa Hotel, in the heart of Lisbon, and will be followed by a networking lunch.
Registration is free and open to all full and associate ETA members. To register, please send an email to [email protected]. The speakers and the confirmed agenda will be published in the upcoming days.
