ETA is returning to Denmark after 41 years. The European Tugowners Association is organizing its 61st Annual Meeting between the 11th and the 14th of June in the picturesque city of Helsingør, in the Marienlyst Strandhotel Hotel. This year the event will be hosted by Svitzer.

Helsingør, also known as Elsinore in English, is a charming coastal city in the Øresund strait. The place is renowned for its massive castle, a unique renaissance construction that inspired artists like Shakespeare and which is a world heritage protected site since 2000. ETA members will have a special visit to the castle as it will be the venue for our traditional gala dinner.

The Marienlyst Strandhotel Hotel shall host ETA delegates, guests and partners during the 4 days event this year. This historical beach hotel founded in 1861 has hosted during the last 163 years celebrities, princes and royals. The 4 days Annual Meeting will be opened on Tuesday the 11th with the traditional golf tournament, which this year will take place at Simon’s Golf Club. Its golf course was designed by world-renowned golf architect Martin Hawtree and offers 27 holes spread over 3 challenging loops. In the evening, full members will be able to relax and network in an exclusive dinner at the Maritime Museum of Denmark, in the port of Helsingør.

Delegates and partners will enjoy the traditional excursions on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th in which they will have a token of Danish culture, food and hospitality. On the 12th Svitzer shall pamper all attendants with a welcome dinner at the Marienlyst Hotel, with the best views on the Øresund strait and the most delicate Danish cuisine.

On Thursday the 13th, ETA is holding a conference on the European Emissions Trading System, that since 2024 covers shipping emissions and it is negatively affecting a number of ports in the EU peripheric countries.

As every year, Friday is reserved for networking in a very relaxed atmosphere. This time, we will have a guided visit to Copenhagen, the beautiful Danish capital.

Reaching Helsingør is easy, the city is well connected with Coppenhagen airport by motorway and railway. A taxi ride is €110-140 and takes around 45 minutes. For those who like trains, the journey takes 1 hour 15 minutes, and the price is €16-22. Furthermore, our Swedish and Norwegian members can easily reach Helsingør via ferry, as the city is directly connected with its Swedish twin, Helsingborg, just 7 kilometers across the Øresund strait.
