ETA 2018 Annual Meeting will take place from the 16 to the 18th of May in the Belgian port city of Antwerp. As every year the 3 days event will consist of several activities for ETA delegates and partners which will combine excellent networking opportunities, an appealing conference and social activities to discover the beauty of the host city. The 55th edition of the ETA Annual meeting will be held at the Elvenveld Hotel, a middle age hospice converted into one of the classiest venues in town. Delegates will stay at the Radisson Blu Astrid Hotel just across the street from the magnificent Antwerpen-Centraal train station and 1 km away from the old town. 

On Thursday 16th, participants will enjoy a guided tour by the historic city center and the waterfront, with a visit to the main landmarks. The tour will be complemented with a lunch at the renovated Felix Pakhuis, a XIX century warehouse converted into a modern restaurant with the best Flemmish and international cuisine. 
In the evening, the hosts, Port of Antwerp, Kotug Smit and Antwerp Towage shall organize a welcome dinner at the Royal Yacht Club. The building hosts the Belgica Dining Room, a unique setting to dine with the best views of the river and the city of Antwerp. Chef Cis Goetschalcks is responsible for the club’ restaurant catering which offers a varied choice of the best Flemish cuisine.
Thursday is reserved for the ETA Annual General Meeting and the Conference, which will take place at the historical Elzenveld Hotel. This year, the central theme of the 2018 ETA Conference will be focused on the digitalization of the shipping industry. The event will bring together policy makers and representatives of ETA members to discuss the challenges and opportunities linked to the adoption of these IT technologies. Moreover, it will be a perfect opportunity to exchange best practice and learn from the many initiatives the European towage sector is developing and implementing in this field. The networking lunch will take place at main hall of the Elzenveld Hotel, a middle age hospice converted into one of the classiest venues in town.

Partners will have the opportunity to discover Antwerp´s fashion district and visit the Fashion Museum and several ateliers. Antwerp is one of the World´s  fashion capitals and is a major design center from which famous designers as Peter Pilotto or Dries van Noten have spawned.

As every year, the highlight of the three agenda is the gala dinner. This time, ETA Secretariat and the hosts have selected a charming venue: Braschaat Castle. This imposing 150 years old chateau is located just outside Antwerp. The castle is surrounded  by one of the nicest Flemish gardens with ponds, fountains and a unique rose garden. The catering for our gala dinner shall be done by  J&M Catering, one of the most prestigious caterers in Antwerp.
The social day shall focus on the most iconic Belgian products, beer and chocolate. ETA delegates will learn about the history and the production process of the famous local beer, De Koninck in its brewery-museum. The visit will be complemented with a tasting of the different beers, the finest Belgian chocolate crafted by one of the best local chocolatiers Jitsk Heyninck and a typically Flemish lunch.
