The European Tugowners Association returns to Italy to hold its 62nd Annual General Meeting. This time, delegates will meet in sunny Sicily, in Siracusa. The ETA 2025 AGM will take place from the 3rd to the 6th of June at the Mangia´s Brucoli Hotel, in Brucoli and it will be hosted by ETA local member MedTug.
The Annual General Meeting, the ETA Conference and full members dinner will take place in one of the most special hotels in Sicily, the Mangia´s Brucoli Hotel.
This newly renovated 5-star resort is located by the sparkling Mediterranean Sea on the eastern coast of Sicily. Set in peaceful green surroundings, the property has 402 bright, elegant and comfortable rooms many with a terrace, small garden or private swim-up. The Resort has 3 swimming pools plus sunbathing areas, sports courts, a gym, spa, 4 restaurants and many other facilities. Brucoli is ideally located for those who wish to practice water sports or explore the island of Sicily, with Taormina, Noto, Catania and Mount Etna among some of the nearby places to visit.
The Annual Meeting days will be filled with events, in which full and associate members and industry leaders will be able to discuss the present and future of the sector, network and enjoy the best Sicilian hospitality.
The event will be opened on the 3rd of June with the traditional ETA golf tournament, which this year will be organized at Il Pìcciolo Golf Resort, on the slopes of mount Etna. Il Pìcciolo is the first 18-hole, 72-par course built in Sicily. Developed in 1989 by the renowned architect Luigi Rota Caremoli, this superb course with holes fashioned from the characteristic lava stone of Mount Etna, covers 5,870 metres
In addition to this, the European Tugowners Association´s delegates will enjoy a very Sicilian welcome dinner hosted by MedTug at Castello Xirumi Serravalle. The castle was originally used as a summer retreat for members of the Barons of Grimaldi family to relax and immerse in the magnificent nature, escaping heat of the nearby baroque city. This time attendants will savour the best Sicilian cuisine and the finest wines in a magic setting.
The Annual General Meeting will offer as well a number of excursions for members and partners to the city of Siracusa, where they will discover the rich past of the city, visiting the fantastic island of Ortigia and the city´s Greek ruins.
The AGM´s gala dinner will be an occassion to remember. This time it will take place at Palazzo Biscari, a magnificent palace located in the center of Catania. In this rococo jewel built in the end of the XVII century, ETA delegates will enjoy a thematic soiree based on the The Leopard, the classic novel writen by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, which depicts Sicilian aristocratic life in a time of systemic changes.
The 6th of June is reserved for the social day in which we are taking ETA delegates to the very top of Sicily, to mount Etna. This massive volcano is a must-see destination and one of the island’s most impressive landmarks. Standing at 3,329 meters tall, it has a base with a circumference of approximately 150 km, offering breathtaking views of the island.
