The European Tugowners Association (ETA) has changed its leadership following the resignation of Mattias Hellström as Chairman. Elected at the last Annual General Meeting in Syracuse in June, Mr Hellström has now stepped down from his role following his departure from Svitzer, which meant he could no longer continue his mandate within the Association.
At an Extraordinary General Meeting held digitally on the 23rd of September, ETA members unanimously approved the appointment of Arjen van Dijk as the new Chairman of Association. Mr van Dijk is the upcoming Managing Director for Europe at Svitzer, and he has a strong international record in towage and marine services, both in Europe and in America.
The ETA thanks Mr Hellström for his dedicated leadership and valuable contributions during his tenure and his 11 years as a member of the ETA Executive Committe, where he actively contributed to the growth of ETA and the realisation of its objectives and vision.
The ETA Secretariat warmly welcomes Arjen van Dijk to his new role and is looking forward to working together under his guidance to further the mission and vision of ETA.
At the moment the Association´s Board of Directors is compossed of Arjen van Dijk as Chairman, Holger Schwesig as Vice Chairman and Anna Maria Darmanin as Secretary General.
